About
As digital media continues to evolve, so too do the questions around who owns content, how it can be used, and what rights creators retain. This short course delves into the complex world of copyright, licensing, and ownership in the context of emerging platforms such as NFTs, blockchain-based media, and decentralised streaming services. Participants will gain a clear understanding of how traditional IP law applies—or fails to apply—to new digital formats, including smart contracts, tokenised assets, and peer-to-peer distribution models. Through practical examples and critical discussion, the course equips creatives, developers, and media professionals with the tools to navigate rights management, avoid legal pitfalls, and make informed decisions about monetising and protecting digital content in the Web3 era. This is a live, tutor-led online course delivered over two days, each session lasting approximately 2 hours. Course start date to be confirmed. - Please check back later for the next start date of this course.
